Betty Jessup Vincent, 91, of Denver, Colorado, died Tuesday, January 10, 2012, in Denver. Memorial Services will be held 2:00 P.M., Saturday, February 25, at Pearson Family Funeral Service, 809 W. Montgomery St., Creston. Rev. Jim Morris will officiate. Interment will be at the Hill of Zion Cemetery near Orient. No Visitation is planned. Memorials may be made in Betty’s name. Bernice “Betty” Opal Vincent, the daughter of Darwin E. and Lida (Haywood) Jessup, was born on February 9, 1920 in Union Township, Ringgold County, Iowa. Betty graduated from Creston High School with the Class of 1938. On August 24, 1946, she married George Edward Vincent in the Old Stone Church, Cleveland, Ohio. They later divorced in 1960. Betty received secretary training at various places including the Civil Service Commission and the Emily Griffith Opportunity School. Betty worked as a secretary for the Federal Government and retired in 1987. She has lived in Denver, Colorado for the past fifty-two years.
Left to cherish Betty’s memory are her sons: Richard Alan Vincent of Denver, Colorado; and Robert Lynn Vincent, Casper, Wyoming. Preceding Betty in death were her parents; her brother, Max Jessup; and her sister, Lela May Fleming.
