Beverly Dicks, 84 of Villisca, Iowa entered eternal rest Thursday, January 23, 2025 at her home in Villisca. Memorial Services will be 10:30 AM, Saturday, March 1, 2025 at the Villisca United Methodist Church, Villisca, Iowa, with Pastor Jenn Van Nostrand and Rev. Gordon Scott officiating. Burial will be in the Villisca Cemetery, Villisca, Iowa. Pearson Family Funeral Service & Cremation Service of Corning is in charge of arrangements. Beverly Joyce Weaver was born to Cecil Calvin and Mabel Catherine (Hensel) Weaver at 121 North Third Avenue in Villisca, Iowa on September 8, 1940. Beverly attended school in Villisca and graduated in 1958.
Beverly worked at Lisle Cooperative in Clarinda from September 1958 until June 1960, Tip Top Curler Factory in Clarinda from February 1963 until June 1963; Electrical Systems in Corning from August 1987 until June 1989 and NSK Corporation in Clarinda from June 1989 till retiring from these in July 1999. Mostly, she was a homemaker and mother, and this was her favorite job.
Beverly married Verlin “Lefty” Edward Dicks on May 7, 1960. To this union were three daughters: Cheryl Lynn, Catherine Mary, and Susan Leann.
Beverly was a member of the Villisca United Methodist Church. She enjoyed, cooking, knitting, crocheting, actually any sort of handcraft. She made afghans for her daughters, great nieces and nephews and also baby afghans. She enjoyed doing search-a-word and seek-a-word puzzle books, Omaha World Herald Jumble puzzle and crossword puzzles, reading and listening to music. She enjoyed about any kind of music, but preferred country music. She enjoyed sci-fi moves to an excess and enjoyed collecting Elvis Presley memorabilia of all kinds. She also collected pigs, owls, cook books and recipes, but most of all she enjoyed her family and every pet she ever had over the years,
Beverly was preceded in death by her parents; brothers: Francis & Bernard; and stillborn daughter, Catherine Mary; husband, Verlin; and his parents, Robert & Mary Dicks; along with several other Dicks family members.
Survivors include her daughters: Cheryl (Marlin) Coates and Susan (Andy) Josephson; nieces and nephews and several other relatives and friends.
