Brenda Boham-Marshall, 59 of Orient, Iowa formerly of Creston, passed away Monday, January 29, 2024 at Iowa Lutheran Hospital in Des Moines, Iowa. Brenda was cremated and no public services are planned at this time. Pearson Family Funeral Service & Cremation Center is in charge of the cremation arrangements. Brenda was born in Creston, Iowa on May 4, 1964, the daughter of Marvin Dean and Rosella (Keener) Boham. She was raised in Creston and educated in the Creston Public Schools. After receiving her GED, Brenda worked as a Certified Nurse Aide, providing in-home care to area residents for several years. She later worked a short time as a Security Guard at the Gummy Bear factory in Creston. Brenda helped make refrigerator parts while working at Pent Plastics in Afton. Brenda was known for her kindness and awesome sense of humor.
Brenda was united in marriage on July 21, 2005 to Melvin Marshall. The couple was married in Butler County, near Allison, Iowa and made their home in Orient, Iowa. Brenda never had any children but is survived by her loving family including her husband, Melvin Marshall of Orient; 4 sisters: Linda Thompson of Cedar Hill, Tennessee; Rose (husband Loni) Vanderpluym of Arispe, Iowa; Donna Howard of Creston Iowa; and Maudie Ott of Greenfield, Iowa; half-brother, Kevin (wife Jackie) Abell of Kearney, Nebraska; her special and life-long friend, Lynn Emig; and by numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives. Brenda will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
Brenda was preceded in death by her parents; 3 sisters: Barbara Wilkey, Edna Lilly and Bertha Long; and by several nieces and nephews.
