August 16, 1948 — February 1, 2025

Orient, Iowa

Charles Michael Hribal, known to many as Charlie, was born on August 16, 1948, in Creston, Iowa, the son of Joseph Louis and Violet Bernadean (Adams) Hribal. He passed away peacefully at his residence on February 1, 2025, surrounded by his loving family.

Charlie dedicated his life to farming, a true passion that shaped who he was. He skillfully raised livestock and tended to row crops, nurturing the land in ways that reflected his deep connection to agriculture. Charlie graduated from Creston High School with the Class of 1968 and later attended Southwestern Community College.

Charlie also devoted 26 years of his life to serving in the Iowa National Guard, embodying the values of commitment and service. His faith was an integral part of his life as well; he was a proud member of the Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Creston and a long-time member of the Knights of Columbus. Charlie also enjoyed many hours of playing card games, especially 10-point Pitch. He loved spending time together with his family and travelling to various towns for Square Dances.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Roberta Hribal of Orient, Iowa; their twin sons, Andrew Hribal of Orient, Iowa, and Izak Hribal of Creston, Iowa; his brother, Joseph Hribal of Creston, Iowa; his two sisters, Rosanne (husband Earl) Stewart of St. Joseph, Missouri, and Barbara Sampson of Creston, Iowa; along with several nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many friends.

Charlie was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents, who will forever hold a cherished place in his memory.
