Della Irene Hackett Cooper passed away May 2, 2011 at the age of 98 years, 7 months and 2 days at the Corning Nursing Rehab Center in Corning, Iowa.
Della was born in Corning, Iowa, the daughter of John A. and Sophia Hackett. She was united in marriage to Orma Thomas Cooper on September 29th, 1941.
Della was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church and the American Legion Auxiliary Post #117.
Della was preceded in death by her husband, Orma; her mother, Sophia; her father, John; brothers: Arthur Hackett and John Hackett Jr., both of Omaha, NE; sisters: Ruby Sacco (husband Gary) of Des Moines, IA and infant sister, Viola of Sargent, NE, sister-in-law: Velma Hackett of Omaha, NE; brother-in-law: Orville Cooper of Pelican Rapids, MN; sons-in-law: Theron (Ted) McCullough of Burlington, IA and John Grossnickle; grandson, Ron McCullough of Burlington, IA and great-grandson, Jacob Grossnickle of Prescott, IA.
Della is survived by her three daughters: Ruby McCullough of Altoona, IA, Norma (husband Ron) Brown and April (husband Jim) Damewood, both of Prescott, IA; brother, Robert Hackett of Sun Prairie, WI; sisters-in-law: Ruth Hackett of Omaha, NE and Laura Beth Cooper of Fergus Falls, MN; nine grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren, nine step-grandchildren and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
