Dixie Lee Stalder was born September 25, 1932 to Harold & Clara Crisp. To this family a brother Fred born in 1940. Dixie married Leo R. Stalder in December 1948. Mom age 16 Dad 29. Two daughters were born to bless this union: Linda and Denise. Mom was a housewife, mother and worked at the Brooks Post Office for a few years! Mom and dad got involved January 1987 in Linda and Denise’s Antique Mall until their building was sold in 2000. Mom dropped out of school at age 13 to find some one to be married to by age 16 at parent’s request! Dixie and Bill were members of the Salem Brethren Church till it closed then attended the Brooks Methodist Church. With help from a cousin’s wife, mom got help to get her GED (General Education Diploma) to graduate from high school. Dixie liked going to religious crusades with her parents.
Dixie was survived by her sister-in-law: Pam Crisp; cousins: Ron Crisp, Evelyn Nelson, Julie Siniard, Jackie Albers; her nieces and families; daughter: Nancy Denise Stalder; grandson: Kevin Calvert.
Dixie was proceeded in death by her husband: Leo; daughter: Linda; infant son; parents: Clara and Bill Crisp; Grandma: Nora Crisp; uncles: Vernon and Dorthy Crisp; James Milton Crisp and wife; grandparents: Fred & Mertle Thomas; Robert Thomas, wife Annie; Floy Crisp and wife; brother-in-law: Harold Frederick Crisp; and many others.
