Donald Eugene Keller was born November 10, 1948 to Raymond Arthur and Grace Irene (Gowey) Keller in Creston. He attended school in Creston. On August 2, 1967 Donald enlisted in the United States Army and served in the Vietnam War. He was awarded a Bronze Star and Purple Heart for his services defending our freedom. Donald married Pamela Richards in Kansas, and the two later divorced. For a short time, Donald moved to Shenandoah, and while living there he met Linda Austin. He would move back to Creston in 1979 and on October 12, 1984, he and Linda were married. Donald was a very hard working man throughout his life. He worked tirelessly at various jobs, providing for his family.
He was a member of the Theodore J. Martens Post #1797, the Creston American Legion and the Creston Eagles Club. Family was very important to Donald and he cherished the times he got together with them, especially on the 4th of July. He had a great love for his 4 legged friend, Wiggles.
