Donna Driskell

Donna Driskell, 86 of Creston, Iowa passed away peacefully at her home on Friday, November 22, 2024. Memorial services will be held 11:30 AM, Friday, November 29, 2024 at the First United Methodist Church of Creston with Rev. Jodi Rushing Officiating. Family will receive friends prior to the service from 10:30 – 11:30 AM. In lieu of flowers, the family requests any memorial contributions be directed to the family, to be established at a later date. Pearson Family Funeral Service & Cremation Center is in charge of professional arrangements. Donna will be laid to rest at a later date in the Graceland Cemetery in Creston. Donna Lee (Abbott) Driskell was born at home, northeast of Creston, on May 20, 1938. She was the only child born to James Eldon and Lola Geneva (Peterson) Abbott. Donna was raised and educated in the Creston area and has lived in Creston her entire life. Donna was married in Greenfield, Iowa on July 10, 1955 to Richard “Dick” Driskell and were blessed with 4 children: Greg, Lori, Doug and Lisa. 

While her children were young, Donna was a homemaker for her family. When the children were older, she went to work at Vetterick Pharmacy for about 10 years. Most of her working years were spent working for Bunn-O-Matic on the Assembly Line. Donna and Dick retired together in 1998. In her spare time, Donna was an avid knitter and crocheter and was part of local Knitting club. Donna was a long-time member of the First United Methodist Church in Creston. Her pride and joy however, were her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and loved their time spent together.

Preceding Donna in death was her husband, Richard “Dick” Driskell; her parents; her in-laws, Everett and Mardell Driskell; a grandson, Tyler Driskell and daughter-in-law, Sandra Driskell. 

Donna is survived by her children: Greg (Merry) Driskell of Creston; Lori (Rick) Trygstad of Nevada, Iowa; Doug Driskell of Creston; and Lisa (Paul) Reitelbach of Newark, Delaware; 8 grandchildren: Chad (Jilian) Fry, Amber (Dan) Tuhn, Gentri (Chris) Reindl, Haley Driskell, Caden (Cassidy) Trygstad, Sara Reitelbach, Rylie Driskell and Rhett Driskell; her great-grandchildren: Keaton, Holden and Colby Fry; Elie, Emie and Maddux Tuhn; Majestic and Malika Driskell; Cael, Nora, Eden and Jude Barton. Donna will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
