Doris Watts

Doris Watts, 88 of Creston, Iowa entered her eternal rest on Tuesday, April 8, 2025 at her home in Creston surrounded by her family. As per Doris’ wishes, she was cremated and no services are planned.

Doris Ann Watts was born January 5, 1937 in Union County, Iowa one of 10 children born to Glen Harvey and Hazel Berniece (Elliott) Moore. Doris was educated in country school and remained in the Creston area most of her adult life. She worked as a Waitress for several different cafe’s in Creston as well as Bartending. Doris was employed at the Super 8 Motel as a Desk Clerk for several years. She also worked in the shoe department at the original Walmart in Creston.

Doris was united in marriage to Robert “Bob” Watts on December 27, 1996 in Tatum, Texas. Doris and Bob were first friends when they were both younger. Later in life, they were re-acquainted and following their marriage, the couple resided in Tatum, Texas until 2002 when they returned to Creston.

Doris was preceded in death by her husband in 2006; a daughter, Patty Burnett; a son, Billy McCarty; her parents and 8 siblings including 3 brothers and 5 sisters.

Doris is survived by a daughter, Debbie (Randy) O’Neall of Creston, Iowa; her grandson, Chris O’Neall; granddaughter, Emi O’Neall, both of Creston, Iowa; and her grandson, Jay (Pamela) Klein of Texas; 2 great-grandchildren: Kohen and Konlin Poore of Creston, Iowa. Doris is also survived by a sister, Ina (Paul) Chandler of Sharpsburg, Iowa; several nieces, nephews, cousins and other extended family. Doris will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
