Eric Duane Shepherd

Eric Duane Shepherd, 54, son of Gary Shepherd and Janice (Stuart) Shepherd, was born in Creston Iowa on July 24, 1965. Eric entered eternal rest on April 15, 2020 at Good Shepherd Medical Center in Longview Texas. Celebration of life services will be 11 AM, Saturday, July 25, 2020 at Pearson Family Funeral Service Cremation Center in Creston, IA. Pastor Rick Titus and Pastor Bart Shields, officiating. The family will receive friends from 9:30 – 10:30 AM, Saturday, prior to the service. Inurnment will follow at Graceland Cemetery, Creston, IA. Memorial contributions may be directed to the Eric Shepherd Memorial Fund established at First National Bank in Creston, IA. Eric Duane Shepherd attended Creston Public Schools, graduating in 1984. He then attended Southwestern Community Colleges automotive tech program. He worked many jobs in Creston and then married Brenda Schad in October 1990. Together they were blessed with 2 children: Levi Shepherd in 1993 and Jenna Shepherd in 1996. The couple later separated in 2005.
Eric then moved to Texas where he met Christy Ingle, where they resided together in Ore City. There, he worked alongside his father Gary, where they co-owned Lakeside Auto Sales. Eric also worked as a Millwright on several industrial shutdowns. Most recently he worked as a Heavy Equipment Operator for Longview Asphalt.
Eric was preceded in death by his grandparents: Otho H. Shepherd and Lena P. Shepherd; Avery W. Stuart; Alma L. Smith and Orval J. “Tarzan” Smith; and Betty Jo Westlake.
Eric is survived by his significant other, Christy Ingle; Father, Gary Shepherd (Louann Chancy); Mother, Janice (Stuart) Shepherd; Son, Levi (Taylar) Shepherd; Daughter, Jenna Shepherd; 2 Brothers: Mark (Erica) Shepherd and Mannie (Shannon) Shepherd; 2 Sisters: Corena (Emma) Boladeres and Jamie Humerickhouse (Robert Burlingame); Stepson, J.R. Ingle (Cheyenne York); 2 Grandchildren: Jordyn and Rylan; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and many, many, friends. Eric will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
