Ethylene Eleanor Ray, the daughter of Joe and Essie Leona (Bullock) Ray, was born on July 30, 1925, in rural Thayer, Iowa. Ethylene entered eternal rest on September 30, 2016 at Crest Haven Care Centre in Creston, Iowa, at the age of ninety-one years, and two months.
Ethylene attended country school and began sixth grade in the Afton school district graduating with the class of 1942. After graduation Ethylene and her sister Dorothy moved to San Francisco, California where she worked in the ship-yards as a welder. She then moved back to Creston and worked at Gits Manufacturing Company until her retirement.
Ethylene loved the outdoors, especially fishing and camping. She looked forward to her fishing and camping trips to Arkansas with her mother and her many trips to Wyoming to see her brothers.
Left to cherish Ethylene’s memory is her sister: Dorothy Brown, Creston. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
Preceding Ethylene in death were her parents; two brothers: Keith and Joe Ray; and three sisters: Grace Ray, Gladys Spainhower, and Vera Stream.
