Helen Lucille Linderman, the daughter of Edward Patrick and Martha Cecilia (Raeder) McElroy, was born on October 22, 1924 in Creston, Iowa. Helen entered eternal rest on June 11, 2015 at Crest Haven Care Center, Creston, Iowa at the age of ninety years, seven months, and twenty days.
Helen graduated from Creston High School and was a life-long resident of the Creston area. On August 21, 1947, Helen married Howard Mason Linderman and this union was blessed with three sons: Dave, Dick and Dennis.
Helen worked as a bookkeeper for J.C. Penney for four years prior to her marriage and continued until they started their family. Helen managed the Hallmark Store for several years. She also worked for Casey’s and for the Gummy Bear Outlet Store. Helen took great pride in her work, whether she was working outside the home or working at home on the farm. Helen was a member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church and Altar Society.
Left to cherish Helen’s memory are her sons: Dave (Chris) Linderman, Creston; Dick (Deb) Linderman, Sedalia, MO; and Dennis (Kenda) Linderman, Creston; Six Grandchildren; Three Great-Grandchildren; her brother, John (Kathleen) McElroy, Dannebrog, NE; her sisters: Mary McElroy, Creston; Ethel (Jim) Herring, Marion, IA; Jean Vais, Anita, IA; and Patricia Knock, New York, NY; her sister-in-law, Maxine McElroy, Creston; her brothers-in-law: Henry Kernen, Villisca; and Dick Kuhl, Greenfield; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
Preceding Helen in death were her parents; her husband, Howard, in 2004; her sisters: Katherine Kuhl, and Margaret Kernen; her brother, Kenneth McElroy; her brother-in-law, Francis Vais; and her sister-in-law, Roseann McElroy.
