Helen Marie Law was born on January 11, 1938 to Floyd Frederick and Helen Mildred (Case) Westlake in Corning, Iowa. Marie entered eternal rest on Monday, July 11, 2011 at Montgomery County Memorial Hospital in Red Oak, Iowa at the age of seventy-three years.
Marie attended Corning High School and graduated with the Class of 1956. Following high school Marie had one year of college.
Marie was united in marriage to Ronald Wayne Law on May 27, 1960 in Red Oak, Iowa and to this union daughter Sara Maureen was born.
Marie lived in Corning her entire life. She worked as a billing clerk for Production Credit Association and at Rosary Hospital/Alegent Health Mercy Hospital for twenty-three years.
Marie was very active in her community. She was a member of the Mercy Health Care Foundation, St. Patrick Alter Society, Rose Ann Auxiliary, Adams County Election Boards and the Adams Community Aquatic Center. Marie loved to read and was partial to bulldogs. She collected Coca-Cola memorabilia. She treasured her “spa” days at Hair Designers and looked forward to her Girls Night Out Group. Marie was an avid fan of the Atlanta Braves and Dale Earnhardt Sr.
Left to cherish Marie’s memory are her siblings: sister, Lois Carmichael of Valdosta, GA, brother, Richard Westlake of Brooks, IA, brother, Ronald Westlake of Unionville, IA; many nieces, nephews and many friends and adopted family.
Marie was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Ronald Law; daughter, Sara Maureen; sister-in-law, Virginia Westlake and nephew, Mark Carmichael.
