Ida Mae Cook, the daughter of Frank and Laura (Oglesby) Cook, was born March 26, 1939, in Wicks, Arkansas. She was united in marriage to Elbert “Al” Dedrick on April 3, 1955. Al and Ida lived in California and owned and operated several bakeries for many years. Ida later worked as an assembler in a factory. She moved to Creston in 2004 and began working in the Housekeeping Department at Greater Regional Hospital until her retirement in 2015.
Ida’s faith was very important to her and she was a member of the Abundant Life Family Church in Creston. She had many interests including: embroidery, traveling, and baking, especially pies. She also loved flowers, but family was most important to her. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Left to cherish Ida’s memory are her children: Susan (Chris) Dickson, Hugo, Oklahoma; Dale Dedrick, Branson, Missouri; Wanda (Lary) Wallace, Modesto, California; Mike Dedrick, Modesto, California; Elaine (Roger) Stamper, Greenfield, Iowa. 14 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren, and many other relatives and friends.
Preceding Ida in death were her parents; husband Al; sisters: Martha and Zella; and brothers: Lewis, Grady and Roy.
