Iola E. Carlson

Iola Elaine Carlson, the daughter of Alice Eleanor (Olson) and Howard Filmore Harris, was born October 8, 1920, near Stuart, Iowa. Iola entered eternal rest on February 18, 2007, at the Greater Regional Medical Center in Creston, Iowa, at the age of eighty-six years, four months, and twelve days.
Iola graduated from Greenfield High School. On January 10, 1954, she married Leonard Eric Carlson at the Greenfield Methodist Church in Greenfield. Leonard passed away January 13, 1984.
Iola has lived in Creston nearly fifty years in the same house which her father built. Iola was a secretary for over sixty years and worked for Union County Soil Conservation. Iola was a former Member of the United Methodist Church in Greenfield; a Member of the First Baptist Church in Creston; and a former Member of the Creston Womens Club and Creston BPW (both have disbanded).
Iola is survived by her Brother-in-law and Sister-in-law: Robert and Margaret Carlson, Fairborn, Ohio; one niece, six nephews; other relatives and many friends.
Preceding Iola in death were her parents; her husband; and an infant brother.
