Joseph Francis Freml, the son of Wesley Robert and Rita Maria (Zeimen) Freml, was born on March 16, 1959 in Harlan, Iowa. Joseph entered eternal rest on January 25, 2012, at the age of fifty-two years, ten months, and nine days.
Joseph graduated from Denison High School with the Class of 1977. He attended Des Moines Area Community College (DMACC) and received a certificate in telephone communications. On June 11, 1983 he married Carolyn Sue Davidson at St. Patricks Catholic Church in Corning, Iowa.
Joseph began working in Lake Mills, Iowa for the telephone company; then he worked for Centel Telephone in Denison. In 1981, he transferred to Corning and continued to work for Centel Telephone until 1986. For the past twenty-five years Joseph has worked for the Southwest Iowa R.E.C. He began working in Member Service for several years; then he worked as a utility power lineman.
Joseph was a member of St. Patricks Catholic Church and was a member of the Knights of Columbus. Joseph was a Volunteer Fireman for twenty-eight years and served on the Adams County Conservation Board for fifteen years.
Left to cherish Josephs memory are his wife, Carolyn Freml, Corning; his sons: Blake (Cassie) Freml, Des Moines; and Seth Freml, Iowa City, Iowa; his father: Wesley Freml, Denison, Iowa; his brothers: Jim (Sherri) Freml, Denison; Tom (Karin) Freml, Creston; Charley (Susan) Freml, Glidden; Richard (Mary) Freml, Harlan; and Gerry (Diane) Freml, Harlan; his mother-in-law and father-in-law: Ed and Bonnie Davidson, Corning; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives and friends.
Preceding Joseph in death were his grandparents; his mother, Rita; and his nephew, Chad Freml.
