Norma “June” Orth, 94, formerly of Creston, passed peacefully in New Brighton, Minnesota, on Tuesday, February 11, 2025.
June was born June 23, 1930, to John and Alma Bradley in Creston, Iowa. She graduated from CHS in 1948, and retired from General Telephone Company after 30 years of service; she issued most all of the original phone numbers in town. She was a member of the Christian Science Society of Creston, and the Women’s Bureau of the Chamber of Commerce.
June was an amazing woman who knew how to make any gathering extra special, whether it was just her grandchildren, Sunday dinner, or an entire crowd. She was an amazing cook who barely sat down to eat herself. As anyone who knew her can attest, she let no grass grow under her feet, and both the sparkle in her eyes, and her smile, were contagious.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Emil Orth; their daughter, Susan Eyberg; her siblings, Eugene (KIA), Theodore, Kenneth, and three infants; and many nieces and nephews. She is survived by her grandchildren Bryan (Lorrie) Eyberg of Massachusetts, Kristin (William) Fleisher of Nebraska, and son-in-law Stephen Eyberg of Creston. She requested no memorial service, only a private family graveside ceremony, to be announced at a later date.
