Justin Scott, 40, of Altoona, Iowa, formerly of Lenox, passed away suddenly on Saturday, August 27, 2022 at Mercy One Medical Center in Des Moines, Iowa. Funeral services will be held 11 AM, Thursday, September 1, 2022 at Pearson Family Funeral Service & Cremation Center in Creston, Iowa. Pastor Barron Geiger, officiating. Interment will be in the Graceland Cemetery, Creston. Open visitation will be 4-8 PM Wednesday, August 31, 2022 with family receiving friends 6-8 PM at the funeral home. Justin Michael Scott was born in Lincoln, Nebraska on December 5, 1981, the son of Jeffrey Merle and Virnita Lynn (Erskine) Scott. Justin attended elementary school in Creston and Lenox. He graduated from Lenox High School with the Class of 2001. Following graduation, Justin moved to Altoona, Iowa where he worked as a self-employed Handy Man. Although Justin never married, his life revolved around his children. They were the love of his life and attended their many school activities. He also loved fishing and spending time with his nieces and nephews.

Left to mourn Justin’s passing are his children: Colton, Macy and Keegan; his parents, Jeff and Virnita Scott; sisters: Jentry (Efrain) Gonzalez and Jessica (Edgar) Lopez, all of Altoona, Iowa; and special friend, Tahara Johnston of Dennison, Iowa. Justin is also survived by his many nieces and nephews: Aaliya Martinez; Austin, Ayson, Axtyn and Adelyn Gonzalez; Jazlyn, Adrian, Kaizen and Maxson Lopez; aunt, Shawna (Ron) Meath and uncles, Mike (Danielle) Kenworthy and John and Jamie Scott; several cousins and many friends.

Justin was preceded in death by his paternal and maternal grandparents; his son, Jordan Scott and his uncle, Rob Ratcliff.
