Kristina Huber

Kristina Huber, 62, of Lenox, Iowa, passed away Monday, November 22, 2021 at CHI Mercy Hospital, Corning, Iowa. Private Graveside Services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Saturday, December 4, 2021, at North Fairview Cemetery, Lenox, Iowa, with Rev. Tim Maxa officiating. The family is in charge of arrangements. Kristina Kay Huber, the daughter of Stanley Arnold and Alma Marlene (Sandstrom) Carlson was born October 22, 1959, at the Rosary Hospital in Corning, Iowa. Kris grew up in the Lenox area and graduated from Creston High School with the Class of 1979. Kris married Gary McBrayer and three daughters were born to this union: Brandi Kay, Kandi Jo, and Kelli Jean. Kris and Gary later divorced. Kris married Lewis Duane Huber on February 15, 2005, in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Kris worked for Michael Foods for several years in the packaging department and later at Casey’s, where she made donuts. Lewis and Kris owned and operated an antique store in Clearfield, Iowa and it was Kris’s favorite job, running their store.

Kris enjoyed horse riding and being outside, plus crocheting. She was known to make gifts for everyone. Kris was the proud grandmother to Hunter, Logan, Harrison, and Trinity. She loved animals and a highlight of her day was time spent “playing” with her dog Co-Co. She will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved her.

Kris' memory is honored by daughters: Brandi Carlson, Hopkins, Missouri; Kelli (Eric) Strough, Clarinda, Iowa; four grandchildren: Hunter Carlson, Logan Fleharty, Harrison Fleharty, Trinity Strough; brothers: Kelly Carlson, Lenox, Iowa; Justin Miller, Lenox, Iowa; mother Marlene (Jim) Wyer, Lenox, Iowa; step-mother: Karen Carlson, Lenox, Iowa; 1st husband, Gary McBrayer, Hopkins, Missouri (father to Kristina’s daughters); uncle, Albert Sandstrom; special neighbors: Gaylon and Brenda Goodvin; Diane Kralik; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

Preceding Kris in death were her father, Stan Carlson; daughter; Kandi McBrayer; maternal and paternal grandparents.
