Leon Lamb

Claude Leon Lamb, Jr., the son of Claude Leon, Sr. and Fern Martha (Hawker) Lamb, was born December 17, 1932 in Creston, Iowa. Leon passed away at Greater Regional Hospice House in Creston on Sunday, July 16, 2017 at the age of eighty-four years, six months and twenty-nine days.
Leon attended school in Creston and graduated from Creston High School with the class of 1951. Leon enlisted in the United States Marine Corp and served his country during the Korean War.
On August 7, 1957, Leon was united in marriage to Catherine White in Creston. Four boys blessed this union: Steve, Jeff, Craig and Mike. Leon worked for the United States Postal Service, a job he would remain at for more than 30 years.
Leon was a member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Creston.
Left to Cherish Leon’s memory are his sons: Steve Lamb and wife Vicky of Prairie Village, Kanas, Jeff Lamb and wife Linda of Creston, Iowa, Craig Lamb and wife Missy of Pleasant Valley, Iowa, and Mike Lamb and wife Roxanne of Red Oak, Iowa; eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.
Preceding Leon in death were his parents; wife, Catherine in 2013 and sister, Betty Mae Weckman.
