Leona Veatch

Leona Mae Veatch, daughter of Guy Raymond and Lottie Lucille (Ridnour) Inman, was born on March 25, 1925 in Adams County near Nodaway, Iowa. Leona entered eternal rest on Tuesday, February 14, 2012 at the Lenox Care Center in Lenox, Iowa at the age of eighty-six years, ten months and twenty days.
Leona married Rex Dean Kirkman in 1945. There were two daughters born to this union: Jean and Janice. Rex passed away in 1953. On February 11, 1955 Leona was united in marriage to Walter Ernest Veatch. Two children were born to this union: Julie and Johnny.
Leona was a member of the VFW Auxiliary and the American Legion Auxiliary in Williamson.
Leona was preceded in death by her parents; first husband, Rex; son, Johnny Veatch in December 2001; grandson, Elijah Warrick in 2006; brother, Ray Inman; sisters: Macy Inman (as a child), Lola Brokaw and Cleo McCuen.
Left to cherish Leonas memory is her husband, Walt Veatch of Prescott, Iowa; daughter, Jean (Marvin) Enger of Omaha, NE; daughter, Janice (Dean) David of Lenox, IA; daughter, Julie (Terry) Beck of Sharpsburg, IA; son, Duane (Shelly) Warrick of Roseburg, OR; twelve grandchildren; twenty great grandchildren; brother-in-law, Cecil (Bernice) Kirkman of Mena, AR; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
