Oletta Ruth Wilson was born December 13, 1922 to Agustus and Sudie (Talent) Wilson in Boliver Missouri, and moved to Nevinville, Iowa as a child. Letty entered eternal rest on Saturday, May 11, 2019 at Red Oak Rehab in Red Oak, Iowa at the age of ninety-six years.
Letty lived most of her adult life in Creston and moved to Red Oak in 2001 to live near her four daughters.
Letty worked many years as checker at the Creston Hy Vee and always stated her greatest honor was being voted “most favorite checker” at that store. Letty had many wonderful friends as she “never knew a stranger”. Her greatest love was her family and her pets, who never left her side. She was a wonderful mother and grandmother, and will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
Letty was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Hans (Ken) Hansen and Francis (Bud) Hethcote; sons, Richard D. and Dennis D. Hansen; daughter, Lana M. Fort; grandsons: Zach Hansen, Shane Adkisson and Curtis Downey Beavers; son-in-law, Ted Shatava and four brothers.
Left to cherish her memory are her three daughters: Pat Shatava of Clarinda, Cindy Rea (Larry) of Red Oak and Debbie Anderson (Mark) of Mountain Home, Arkansas; son, Dan Hansen of Creston, several grandchildren; great-grandchildren; great-great grandchildren; along with many other relatives and friends.
