Marie Ann Degear

Marie Ann Degear, 47, of Prescott, lost her battle with lung cancer on Jan 24, 2024.  The family will host a Celebration of Life at 12 noon, Saturday, February 17, 2024 at a location to be determined.  Pearson Family Funeral Service & Cremation Center is in charge of cremation arrangements.  Condolences can be shared online at www.pearsonfuneralhomes.com.

 Marie was born March 6, 1976 in Syracuse, New York to George and Betty Merithew. Marie Spent 22 years as a stay home mom. Frank Mills, Sr. and Marie had 4 beautiful children: Trey, Andrew, Steven and Madison. They raised these 4 children in Kent, Iowa where they moved from the state of New York. Marie spent most of her life in the state of New York before her family moved to Iowa.

 Many will remember Marie for her fun, outgoing personality, that would always make someone laugh. Her big smile, and heart-warming personality will always be something that people look back on. Marie loved music and all different kinds of music, to the sound of the band Icp or to artist of Slim Shady. Marie was a big animal lover and would take in any animal if she could. Marie grew to love motorcycles as Marie and her husband Walter Degear shared that passion. Out of everything Marie loved, nothing will compare to her 4 kids as she loved watching them grow into young adults.

 Marie’s memory will go on in the hearts of her husband Walter; her sons and daughter:  Trey, Andrew, Steven, Madison, and her step-daughter, Kathryn; parent, Betty Merithew; brothers: Rick and Jack Merithew; sisters: Mildred Merithew and Sarah Egnor.

 Marie was preceded in death by her father, George Merithew, Sr.; and brother, George Merithew.
