Marlene Joan King, the daughter of Van Harold and Helen Abbey (Meyer) Jeffrey was born September 20, 1938 in Imperial, Nebraska. Marlene entered eternal rest on Tuesday, August 31, 2021, at CHI Health Mercy Hospital, Corning, Iowa, at the age of eighty-two years. Marlene was united in marriage to Dale William King in 1954, in Arthur, Nebraska. Three children were born to bless this union: JoLene, Bill, and Richard.
As a young adult, Marlene worked for Brandeis as the China Manager, in Downtown Omaha and at Southroads Mall. Marlene graduated from Omaha Tech High School, Class of 1979, as an older adult. Marlene’s hobbies included crocheting, cooking, and gardening. She had a great love of animals, especially horses and dogs. She loved being outdoors where she could enjoy her interests.
Left to cherish Marlene’s memory are her children: JoLene (Michael) Rice, Bellevue, Nebraska; Bill (Etta) King, Stanton, Iowa; Richard King; five grandchildren: Courtney (Galen); Lorilie (Neal); Elizabeth; Joan and Johnathon; four great-grandchildren: Kayla; Max; Scarlett and Abel; sister-in-law: Charlene Jeffrey, Cedar Rapids, Iowa; other relatives and friends.
Preceding Marlene in death were her parents; husband, Dale King; sisters: Donna McDonald; Phyllis Dotson; brother, Harold Jeffrey; brothers-in-law: Raymond McDonald and Charles Dotson.
