Melissa Dawn Rahn, the daughter of Norman Leon and Cynthia Jane (Smith) Brown, was born October 2, 1978, in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Melissa moved to Iowa from Texas when she was nine years old. She lived three years in Lenox, having lived the past five years in Corning. She married Kenneth Michael Rahn and Kenneth preceded Melissa in death in 2015. Melissa was blessed with two wonderful sons: McCoy and Jason. Melissa started working as a CNA at Creston Specialty Care in 2019. She later transferred to Corning Specialty Care and worked until she became ill.

Left to cherish Melissa’s memory are her sons: McCoy Baker, Barnard, Missouri; Jason Rahn, Corning, Iowa; granddaughter: Taylynn Baker; brother: Jarrod (Ally) Brown, Corning, Iowa; sister: Amanda (Jesse) Palmer, Albany, Missouri; sister: Lori Alley, St. Louis, Missouri; several nieces, nephews, other relatives.

Preceding Melissa in death were her parents; husband; grandparents; and other extended family.
