Michael “Mike” Dale Goodrich was born February 13, 1946, in Red Oak, Iowa to Mona Rhea (Myers) and Dale Arthur Goodrich. He passed away at the Iowa Veterans Home in Marshalltown on Monday, February 12, 2018, at the age of 71. Mike and his family moved to Creston, Iowa in 1951. He attended Creston High School where he was involved in football and wrestling. He graduated in 1964 and continued his education for two years at Northwest Missouri State.
In 1967, Mike joined the United States Navy and was part of the Blue Angels team, stationed in Pensacola, Florida. He was able to travel to many parts of the world when the Blue Angels performed. Mike was honorably discharged in 1971.
On August 19, 1972, Mike married Roberta “Bobbie” Rudloff and they moved to Florida where Mike worked for Mosler Alarm Systems. Mike and Bobbie were married until 1976, and Mike returned to Creston to work for the Burlington Northern as a brakeman. Mike moved to Marshalltown in 2008.
Mikes greatest hobbies were hunting, fishing, sailing, scuba diving, and spending time with his brothers.
Mike was preceded in death by his parents, Dale and Mona; and nieces, Terri and Stacey Goodrich.
Left to cherish Mikes memory are his brothers: Jerry Goodrich and wife Kathy of Creston, Denny Goodrich of Mount Ayr, Larry Goodrich and wife Joyce of Cherokee, and Randy Goodrich and wife Marilyn of Des Moines; along with numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and many other relatives and friends.
