Mildred Marie Woods

Mildred Marie Woods was born August 27, 1925, in Creston, Iowa, the daughter of Earl and Cammie Marie (LeCocq) Downing. Mildred entered eternal rest on November 27, 2015 at Creston Nursing and Rehab in Creston, Iowa at the age of 90 years and three months.
Mildred attended Zion Public school and received her high school diploma. On February 14, 1945, Mildred married Earl Samuel Woods in Creston, Iowa.
Mildred was a homemaker and helped Earl on the farm with any chores that needed to be done. She helped with all of the farming operations and always had “dinner” ready at noon. Mildred always had a garden, both vegetables and flowers.
Mildred was a member of the Cromwell Congregational Church and served in many capacities over the years. She was also a member of the quilting Club and a former member of The Eagles Lodge in Creston, Iowa.
Left to cherish Mildred’s memory is her son, Sammy Woods, Creston IA; two grandchildren: Matt Woods, Fontanelle, IA,; Shelby(Rich) Hoffman, Ankeny, IA; six great grandchildren: Kinleigh, Kaelynn, Kaydee and Paige and twins: Hope and Hannah; brothers: Paul Downing, Creston, IA; John (Betty Mae), Creston, IA, Donny (Sharen) Downing, Orient, IA. Mildred is also survived by several nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
Preceding Mildred in death was her father, Earl Downing in 1948;and her husband, Earl in 1984; her mother, Cammie Downing in 1988; and sister-in-law: Berniece Downing in 2015.
