Odette Mathis

Odette Gisele Mathis, the daughter of Paul and Alcide Martin, was born in Paris, France on November 13, 1925. She was educated and graduated high school in Paris, France. Odette met Billie Lee Mathis during WWII. They married and moved to Diagonal, Iowa. They lived in Ringgold County for 20 years before moving to Creston in 1967.
Odette was a very private person who devoted her life to her husband and three children as a housewife and homemaker.
Odette is survived by sons: Steve (Anne) Mathis, Omaha, NE; Jerry Mathis, Creston, IA; son-in-law: Harlan Stark, Logan, KS; four grandchildren: Gabe (Laurie) Gibson, Loveland, CO; Terri (Chuck) Crouch, Loveland, CO; Kevin Mathis, Elkhorn, NE; Nina (Sean) Bouchard, Omaha, NE; eight great grandchildren: Grady Bailey Gibson; Jacob, Wyatt Levi Crouch; Adele, Alyse Sterling Bouchard; and a niece and nephew who live in France.
Odette was preceded in death by her husband, Billie, in 1992; parents; daughter, Jenny Stark; and sister, Lulu.
