Pat Wolfe, 90 of Creston, entered eternal rest Thursday, December 24, 2020 at Creston Specialty Care. A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 AM, Wednesday, December 30, 2020 at Holy Spirit Catholic Church for both Pat and her sister-in-law, JoAnn Albrecht, Father Adam Westphal, Celebrant. Interment for both will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Creston. Public viewing for Pat will be 1:00 – 5:00 PM Tuesday, December 29, 2020. The family will receive friends from 5:00 – 6:00 PM with a Christian Wake Service to follow at 6:00 PM at Pearson Family Funeral Service & Cremation Center, 809 W. Montgomery Street in Creston. Patricia Louise Wolfe was born in Des Moines, Iowa on November 30, 1930, the only child of Clarence and Eva (Stroup) Hausz. Pat lived in Lorimor and Tingley until the family settled in Creston when Pat was a young girl. Pat graduated from Creston High School with the Class of 1948 and attended 1 year at Creston Junior College. After college, Pat worked for the telephone company and also the local bakery. On June 21, 1949, Pat was united in marriage to James Louis Wolfe in Creston and four children would be born to bless this union: Mike, John, Bob and Cathy.
Pat was always busy and worked several places including Geis Jewelry and the Longstaff Paint Store. She also worked as the secretary for Franklin Elementary School and as an Administrative Assistant for SICOG (Southern Iowa Council of Government) for several years. Pat was active in AFS, placing foreign exchange students in different homes and she and Jim also hosted 2 foreign exchange students of their own, Oswaldo Alberti and Hector Inga. Pat was a member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church, the Catholic Daughters and volunteered many hours at the Rerun Store. She also participated in the Creston Community Chorus, the Elzevirs Reading Club, the JWN Club and a Bridge Club. Pat will be missed by all who knew and loved her. May God grant comfort and strength to those who mourn.
Pat is survived by her husband, Jim Wolfe of Creston; sons: Mike (Rita) Wolfe of Creston, John (Lisa) Wolfe of Creston and Bob (Lori) Wolfe of Roseville, CA; her daughter, Cathy (Jim) Obermeier of Ankeny, IA; 10 grandchildren: Jamie (Rebecca) Wolfe, Dawn (Chris) Loudon, Jason (Erica) Wolfe, Jacob Wolfe (Fiance Charley Parcher), Jay Wolfe (significant other Taylor Wagner), Robert (Christa Haines) Wolfe, Nick (Kim) Wolfe, Cristin Larsen, Mark (Stacey) Larsen and Daniel (Tabatha) Larsen; and 14 great-grandchildren.
Preceding Pat in death were her parents; mother-in-law, Veronica McCall; father-in-law, Leo Wolfe; two granddaughters: Jennifer Wolfe and Holly Obermeier; and sister-in-law, JoAnn Albrecht.
