Paul Mike Townsley

Paul Michael Townsley, the son of Francis M. and Gladys F. (Wolf) Townsley, was born in Des Moines, IA on November 6, 1964 and entered eternal rest on Saturday, December 2, 2017 at Creston Specialty Care in Creston at the age of 53 years.
Mike attended school in Ankeny, IA until moving to Alaska to work hanging drywall. He returned to Iowa where his daughter, Nikkie, was born. Mike worked for the Carpet Layer’s Union in Des Moines for six years. He married Sherry Ann Beard in Las Vegas on December 31, 2004. They lived in Alabama and Florida for three years where he drove a produce truck, delivering produce to restaurants on the Florida beaches. They moved back to Iowa in 2011 to be closer to family. Mike worked for Schildbergs for a few years before working for the Operating Engineer’s Union as a heavy equipment operator until his health began to fail ten months ago.
Mike was a former member of the Fountain of Life Church in Panora where he was baptized and was a member of the International Union of Operating Engineers Local #234. Mike was an avid outdoorsman, loving to hunt, fish and kayak.
Mike was preceded in death by his father and two brothers, Frank and John Townsley.
Mike is survived by his wife, Sherry; daughter, Nikkie Townsley; four grandchildren, Payton, Skyla, McKenna and Axton Gilmore; son, Patrick Brennon; daughter, Sara Townsley; five sisters: Betty, Laurie, Darcy, Shannon and Michelle; mother, Gladys Townsley; nephew, David Townsley; and numerous, loving step-children and step-grandchildren
