Phyllis Boortz

Phyllis Boortz, 88, of Creston, passed away on Friday, November 12, 2021 at Greater Regional Medical Center in Creston. Private family services and interment will be held at Graceland Cemetery in Creston. Memories and condolences can be shared at www.pearsonfuneralhomes.com.

Phyllis Esther Bartlett, the daughter of Harry Amos and Laura Belle (Wickes) Bartlett was born on March 19, 1933 in Adair County, Iowa. She attended Orient High School and later received her G.E.D. In 1954 Phyllis married Robert Emil Boortz in Jackson, Minnesota. Phyllis was a life-long homemaker and a county election judge where she made many life long friends. Phyllis was a beloved mother, grandmother and aunt.

Left to cherish her memory is her son, Gary Boortz of Denver, Colorado; granddaughters, Erin Peters and husband Mike of Folsom, California and Quinn Boortz of Washington D.C.; great-grandchildren: Jackson, Cameron and Landon; nieces: Rhonda Rocap of Mantorville, Minnesota, Cindy Brienzo and husband Douglas of Burlington, Iowa and Barbara Briggs and husband Kevin of Byron, Minnesota; and seven beloved grand-nieces and grand-nephews.

Preceding Phyllis in death were her parents, Harry and Laura; husband, Robert; daughter-in-law, Holly; sister, Jane Buck and infant sister, Vera Jean.
