Randy Brentnall

Randy Brentnall, 69 of Des Moines, Iowa entered his eternal life on Sunday, January 29, 2023 at his home. A Celebration of Life service will be held 1:00 PM, Tuesday, February 7, 2023 at Pearson Family Funeral Service & Cremation Center in Creston, Iowa. Rev. Mary O’Riley will officiate. Randy will be laid to rest in the Mt. Zion Cemetery, north of Prescott, Iowa. Memorial contributions may be directed to the Prescott United Church-Disciples of Christ. Randall Scott Brentnall was born in Corning, Iowa on November 9, 1953 to parents Dallas Eugene and Opal Delores (Dillon) Brentnall. Randall was educated in the Prescott Community Schools and graduated with the Class of 1972. Following graduation, Randy enrolled at Drake University school of Pharmacy. In 1976, Randy graduated with Honors including the Dean of Pharmacy Award. Randy enjoyed his various pharmacy jobs over the years, working in Clinical, retail (Hy-Vee) and hospital settings (Broadlawns). Randy continued his education and earned his Master’s Degree from Drake University in Business Administration a few years later. He also worked at Principal in Des Moines for several years. Currently, Randy was an on-site Liaison for the Social Security Administration, serving as an advocate for the disabled.

Randy had a passion and love for music. He was a talented musician and won many awards for his musical skills. He will be remembered as a very loving, kind, compassionate and humble man with a good sense of humor and his dry wit. Randy loved watching college basketball, especially the Drake Bulldogs. He was a lover of all animals, but was especially fond of the 3 dogs he has owned and to “Buddy”, his surviving pet companion. When able, Randy loved tending to his flower gardens. Randy loved the Lord and was a wonderful brother and son who will be truly missed by many.

Randall was preceded in death by his parents. Randy is survived by his sister, Susan Brentnall of Omaha, Nebraska (companion Chuck Grimes of Ralston, Nebraska) and brother, Ron Brentnall of Des Moines, Iowa; May God grant comfort and strength to those who mourn.
