Rex L. Jones

Rex LeRoy Jones, the son of Wesley William and Mamie Opal (Brown) Jones, was born on August 13, 1936, at his parents home in Murray, Iowa. Rex entered eternal rest on August 28, 2008, at his home in Tingley, Iowa, at the age of seventy-two years and fifteen days.
Rex married Frances Marie Shepherd on November 18, 1956, at Decatur, Iowa. To this union three children were born: George, Beth and Vicki. Rex worked for Oscar-Meyer for 24 years. He also worked on the railroad for Burlington-Northern; worked laying the natural gas pipeline; and worked at Living History Farms for 14 years. Rex and Frances have lived in Tingley since 2000.
Rex loved fishing and bird watching. He also did wood-working and made bird houses, wagons and other projects.
Left to cherish Rexs memory is his wife, Frances Jones, Tingley; his children: George Jones, Tingley; Beth (Ed) Mikes, Adel, IA; Vicki (Russ) Nance, Woodward, IA; Six Grandchildren; Seven Great-Grandchildren; his Brother-in-Law: F. A. Witt, Afton; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
Preceding Rex in death were his parents; and ten brothers and sisters.
