Burial will be at Mt. Etna Cemetery in rural Corning, Iowa. Memorials may be directed to the family.
Richard Dean Goldsmith, son of John Lewis and Mary (Kennedy) Goldsmith, was born in Adams County, Iowa on July 22, 1931. Richard entered eternal rest on Wednesday, February 13, 2008 at Montgomery County Memorial Hospital at the age of 76 years, 6 months and 25 days.
Richard was united in marriage on July 3, 1955 to Norma Jean Boswell at the United Methodist Church in Corning, Iowa. To this blessed union, three sons were born: Michael Dean, Jon Richard and Kirk Allen.
Richard graduated from Corning High School in 1948 and began working as an Operator at Red Star Mill in Corning. He worked there over 30 years until his retirement.
Richard especially loved to dance, play cards, and work outside. His true passions were taking care of his wife, his mother, his grandkids, his garden and his collection of old John Deere tractors.
Richard is survived by his Mother: Mary Kennedy Goldsmith of Corning, Iowa; Wife: Norma Jean; Sons: Michael Dean (wife Bobbie) Goldsmith of Corning, Iowa, Jon Richard (wife Angi) Goldsmith of Red Oak, Iowa, Kirk Allen (wife Lori) Goldsmith of Creston, Iowa; Brother: Gary (wife Val) Goldsmith of Corning; Sisters: Joann (husband Milton) Fricke of Papillion, Nebraska, Janet (husband Jerry) Strong of Olympia, Washington, DeAnn Hensdale of Council Bluffs, Iowa and six grandchildren.
