Rickie Lee Kromminga, the son of George Palmer and Wilma Irene (Deemer) Kromminga, was born on March 2, 1951, at Creston, Iowa. Rick entered eternal rest on May 17, 2007, at the Taylor Hospice House in Des Moines, Iowa, at the age of fifty-six years, two months, and seventeen days.
Rick attended Creston Public Schools. He married Dianne McCann on January 26, 1970, at Hiawatha, KS and they were married for three years. Rick lived in Creston most of his life. He also lived in Arispe and Malvern for several years. Rick worked during the summer months as a hired hand for different farmers in the area. He also helped with the set-up when traveling carnivals came to Creston.
Rick loved to fish and hunt. He enjoyed feeding the birds and going for walks. He enjoyed living with the other residents at the Monroe Group Home in Creston.
Rick is preceded in death by his Parents, Grandparents; Three Grandchildren: Kayla, Emily and Kelsey Kromminga; and a Brother: Palmer Kromminga.
Left to mourn Ricks passing are his sons: Shawn (wife Holly) Kromminga, Creston; Jason (wife Margie) Kromminga, Laredo, TX; his brother: Mike (wife Kim) Kromminga, Greeley, CO; his sister: Betty Long, Aloha, OR; Eight Grandchildren: Jessica, Alexis, and Kasey Kromminga; Dalton, Jason Jr., Meagan, and Matthew Kromminga; and Katelyn Stevens; Special Friends: Dianne and Garry Brenizer; and Amy Brenizer; several nephews, other relatives and friends.
