Russ Acton

Russell “Russ” Acton, 85, of Villisca, was born on April 27, 1935 to Ralph Dillon and Odessa (Stalling) Acton in Creston, Iowa. Russ entered eternal rest on Monday, November 9, 2020 at CHI Mercy Hospital in Corning.

Russ graduated from Villisca High School with the class of 1954. On April 13, 1953 he entered the Iowa National Guard and on April 13, 1956 he transferred to The United States Army. He was honorably discharged on June 30, 1957. He was a member of American Legion Post #331 in Omaha, Nebraska.

Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Debbie Acton of Villisca; several children and many grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ralph and Odesa; an infant brother and son, Greg.

Burial will be at a later date in the Arlington Cemetery in Villisca. Memorial contributions may be directed to the Villisca Volunteer Fire Department.
