Shirley Ann Henry was born April 12, 1929 in Shannon City, IA to A.J. and Beryl (Miller) Weber. She graduated from Shannon City High School in 1947. Shirley married John G. Henry on May 24, 1950 in Afton, IA.
Shirley was an active 4-H and Cub Scout leader. She and John owned and operated the Sale Barn in Mount Ayr and the roller-skating rinks in Mount Ayr and Creston. She loved the Iowa State Fair and spent many years camping at the fair and managing the “Ye Old Mill”.
Shirley is survived by her eight children: Pamela (Mark) Wall of Grimes IA, Sheryl (Fred) Gramm of Stratton Co, Suzanne Calhoun of Colorado Springs CO, Kevin (Rose) Henry, Creston IA, Kimberly (Jay) Moore of Broomfield CO, Bruce Henry of Burnsville MN, Brian (Mary) Henry of Broomfield CO, and Michelle (Steve) Rhine of Des Moines IA; Brother Dave Weber of Queens Creek AZ, Brothers-in-law Jack Vicker of Creston IA and Richard (Betty) Henry of Holton MO, Sisters-in-law Betty Weber Orange CA and Kay Harding of Broomfield CO; 24 grandchildren, many great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Shirley was preceded in death by her husband, John, daughter Deborah Shelley, grandchildren Sawyer Rhine and Caleb Moore; siblings: Delores and husband Perry Christenson, James “Bob” Weber, Richard “Dick” Weber, Larry Weber, Paul Eugene Weber, and Diana Vicker; sister-in-law, Natalie Weber.
