Wayne Raymond Badgett, the youngest son of Nora (Miller) and King Richard Badgett was born on the family farm in Adams County on May 12, 1922.
Wayne attended Corning High School and graduated with the Class of 1941.
On January 22, 1943, Wayne was united in marriage to Dolores Aileen Dory in Maryville, Missouri and four children were born to the union.
Wayne and Dolores farmed in Adams County until they moved their family to Oregon in 1952. After returning to Corning in 1961, Wayne started a welding and repair business on the land where he had attended the Pottinger School as a child.
Over the years the family enjoyed many camping trips, finding secluded places with little or no habitation in the mountains or by the Snake River. Wayne was a member of the Christian Church in Milton-Freewater, Oregon, the Corning Camping Club and the Iowa Blacksmith Welders Association.
